What You Don't Know About Animal Circuses

What Happens To Animals After the Circus?

Canned Hunt Facilities

The lives of circus animals are not only characterized by pain and brutality while in service, as what happens to these creatures once their service is done may be even worse. The service of an animal may come to end when the circus deems them as no longer useful or profitable for their shows (Niedrich).

Once they are seen as useless, they are sold to canned hunt facilities. Canned hunt enterprises offer the owners of the animals the opportunity to kill the animals (that they claim to be wild or dangerous when they are not) at close range (Niedrich).

Raising Awareness About Canned Hunting

Animals used in circuses depend on humans for food, therefore are easy targets at feeding stations. They no longer fear humans, thus would not try and escape a hunt facility. With these horrifying facilities, an animal’s already unfortunate life may come to an end in an even more painful and inhumane manner (Niedrich).
